What REALLY Happens When The Left Smears Conservatives As Nazis

Left never lets a crisis go to waste.

On Saturday, an evil person drove a car into a crowd of people protesting a neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Va., killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer and injuring at least 35 others in what was unquestionably an act of domestic terror. Heyer’s murder was the peak of a day of escalating violence between white supremacists participating in a “Unite the Right” rally and counter-rioting hard-left Antifa radicals.

Horrified onlookers of good conscience roundly denounced the violence. President Donald Trump issued a statement condemning “in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides.” However, the president omitted the words “white supremacist” and “Antifa” from his statement, leading critics to declare the statement “vague” and giving his political opponents an opportunity they were all too willing to take.

A spokesman for the White House clarified Sunday that the president’s statement “includes white Supremacists, KKK, neo-nazi [sic] and all extremist groups,” but the Left has already rushed to politicize Saturday’s violence, disingenuously and immorally casting the blame for the violence and for Heyer’s murder entirely on President Donald Trump and on conservatives as a group.

In a series of tweets, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., linked the president and his White House staff to the KKK and other white supremacist groups, suggested that he encouraged acts of terror, and absolved the Left of any responsibility for Saturday’s violence — despite the clear and present Antifa radicals with pepper spray and clenched fists.

She was joined by other elected Democrats.

Meanwhile, the sickening co-founder of Vox Media and founder of the far-left Daily Kos, Markos Moulitsas, went further and slandered all American conservatives by equating us with Nazis.

Moulitsas’ disgusting tweet is a call back to last Friday’s controversy between Rep. Kathleen Rice, D-N.Y., and NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch, in which Rice absurdly labeled Loesch and all law-abiding NRA members as “domestic security threats.” He’s not alone, as others are drawing their own lines between Loesch, Trump, and the violence of this weekend.

What is happening in the media, what the Democrats are undertaking, is a morally reprehensible smear campaign by the Left to equate conservatives with the neo-Nazi, white-supremacist Alt-“Right.” The Left is dishonestly labeling conservatives as terrorists, accusing us of inciting the violence in Charlottesville and elsewhere. It surfaced last week with conservative commentator Dana Loesch and the NRA, and now they’ve come for the rest of us.

As these falsehoods are spread by the three-inch fools looking to score cheap political points by widening the divisions the country, conservatives must respond with an unmistakable moral clarity.

The Alt-“Right” stands against everything we believe in. Its adherents reject the Judeo-Christian heritage conservatives hold as the foundation for the flourishing of western civilization. They deny the inherent equality of mankind made explicit in America’s founding political philosophy. The Alt-“Right” racists who wave Nazi and Confederate flags, who chant “blood and soil,” who agitate, incite violence, and demand an authoritarian government to empower the white race against the rest of mankind are evil and have no place in the civil society.

Our denunciations will not be accepted by partisan curs who believe it is to their advantage to paint all conservatives with a racist brush. Even so, a decent respect for mankind and a moral duty to uphold what is good and just require conservatives to speak, and speak loudly.

There is a moral duty for our countrymen in the opposition as well, though few now seem to recognize it. This duty requires an immediate end to the spread of these lies, which do far worse than damage Republicans politically. The Left’s smears don’t merely keep conservatives out of office.

The true moral outrage of what the Left is doing is that in bearing false witness against conservatives, they are empowering the Alt-“Right.” Labeling all conservatives as Nazis emboldens the real Nazis by screaming that their movement is bigger than it really is. Claiming, as the Democrats and the media do, that the White House embraces these fringe extremists makes them believe they have more power than they really do. It makes them presume that their movement has legitimacy and the backing of the most powerful man in the world.

The white supremacists believe they have nationwide support because that is what they hear every day on cable news. These neo-Nazis are told the president is one of them. This pretense to legitimacy, encouraged by the media’s fixation on Donald Trump, the Democrats’ political opportunism, and the violent response of Antifa radicals, will inevitably lead the Alt-“Right” to intensify its efforts and recruit more to their cause.

The result will be more racist rallies, more Antifa riots, more violence, and more people getting hurt.

More people dying.
