YouTube Shooter Was An Iranian Hijab Wearing Vegan, PETA Supporting Environmental Activist

The women who shot three people outside of YouTube’s headquarters has been identified by Police as Nasim Najafi Aghdam. Before the announcement was made, much of her online presence was removed, including her pages on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

But with some digging, Big League Politics has found some insight into her potential motive and her personal beliefs.

Just a little over a week ago, Aghdam posted a video on Instagram asking her audience if she looked good in a hijab while posing with the Islamic finger salute adopted by ISIS. It’s unclear whether she was doing the gesture in support of the Islamic State or rather poking fun at them.

Unfortunately, Instagram has scrubbed her account from the internet. We will update with the video if we are able to locate it.

UPDATE: We’ve found the video which was reuploaded on Twitter:

In a YouTube video reposted on Twitter, she mentions she’s from Iran.

She was a hardcore vegan activist, who, according to photos, has been arrested for the cause in the past. On the video section of her website, she includes multiple pro-PETA videos, and encourages people to go to PETA’s website.

On the homepage of her website she lays out what she believes is wrong with the world, specifically targeting animal cruelty, environmental issues, and sexual immorality:

“BE AWARE! Dictatorship exists in all countries but each country uses different tactic! They only care for their own short term personal profits & do anything to reach their goals even by fooling simple-minded people & hiding the truth, manipulating science, putting public mental & physical health at risk, abusing non-human animals, polluting the environment, destroying family values, promoting materialism & sexual degeneration in the name of freedom,…..”

She also complains about her perceived censorship on YouTube, which is a platform she had used to promote veganism.

Her perceived censorship by YouTube could very well be the reason she chose to target the video sharing website. On the home page of her website she includes a video by popular YouTube user Casey Neistat, which goes into detail about YouTube demonetizing videos.

This is a developing story, Big League Politics will keep you updated on any new developments.
