On this episode of Blunt Force Truth, Chuck and Mark are joined by Nicholas Giordano. They kick off the show by discussing how the coronavirus outbreak has been handled and what else the government should do. They discuss why the coronavirus is proof that Medicare-for-all would not help this issue.
They continue their conversation about how the virus will impact society and the economy. Nicholas explains the issues that will arise from schools closing. They discuss how people are willing to give up their liberties up for more security and the difficulty of getting those liberties after the crisis.
They finish up today’s show by discussing the issue with government bailing out businesses during times of crisis. Nicholas explains a simple plan that would give businesses of all sizes a safety net for making payroll during a time of crisis. They explain how this plan would keep government out of the private sector, while making sure corporate executives cannot misuse these funds.

Nicholas Giordano is a Professor of Political Science at Suffolk Community College and host of The P.A.S. Report Podcast. Recognized and well-respected for his analysis, Professor Giordano appears on radio and television to provide analysis on current issues and trends within government, politics, international relations, homeland security/emergency management, and social/cultural related issues. In addition, he is regularly called on to speak at events to provide expertise on critical issues facing the United States.

Professor Giordano’s accomplishments are far-reaching and include senior leadership during response operations, maintaining situational awareness, and leading a number of planning initiatives so that EM officials more effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from an incident.
