On Thursday, August 29, 2019, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden told a town hall at Clinton College in Rock Hill, South Carolina that he would shut down migrant shelters and detention facilities at the border.
A student from Clinton College asked Biden what he would do to improve and help migrants at detention facilities.
Biden responded, “Close them down!”
He then bellowed, “No, no, no, no, no, no.”
Biden added, “We don’t need them. We [meaning President Barack Obama and himself] found that, when we were in office, in fact … [when] we finally got things under control, you have to report back for a hearing on such-and-such a date, people show up!”
