Group Sues U. Of Texas Over Removal Of Confederate Statues

A gathering called the Sons of Confederate Veterans has recorded a claim against the University of Texas and its leader over the current evacuation of statues regarding three Confederate pioneers and a previous legislative head of Texas.

The gathering’s Texas section contends that UT President Greg Fenves’ requested the four statues evacuated Sunday night disregarding the gathering’s rights, the Dallas Morning News reported.

The expulsion of the statues from the school’s Austin grounds came one week after the lethal savagery in Charlottesville, Va., where designs were made to expel a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.

The Texas part of SCV already sued the college in 2015 over the expulsion of a statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, the Morning News detailed.

This time, be that as it may, the gathering is accepting assistance from a relative of George Littlefield, a previous UT official and Confederate veteran whom the gathering claims paid for the four statues previously he passed on in 1920.
