In a display of monumental hypocrisy, so-called contact tracers tasked with investigating the activities of everyday citizens to stop the spread of coronavirus have been instructed not to ask about attendance at left-wing protests by New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.
De Blasio spokeswoman Avery Cohen confirmed that “no person will be asked proactively if they attended a protest” in an email to The City over the matter.
Blasio’s free pass to leftist activists all but sends the message that coronavirus social distancing rules were never taken seriously by the progressive yet unpopular mayor.
The mass left-wing protests and criminal riots that have occurred in the city of New York have flagrantly violated the city’s social distancing requirements, which remain theoretically in effect in the city that some have pointed to as the global epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.
