CNN told Politico on Tuesday that they will be boycotting the annual White House Christmas party set to be held this Friday for the media. The network cited “continued attacks” from President Donald Trump for their decision to sulk on the sidelines and skip the party.
“CNN will not be attending this year’s White House Christmas party. In light of the President’s continued attacks on freedom of the press and CNN, we do not feel it is appropriate to celebrate with him as his invited guests. We will send a White House reporting team to the event and report on it if news warrants,” said a CNN spokesperson.
In Trump-like fashion, Press Secretary Sarah Sander reacted with a hilarious jab via Twitter.
“Christmas comes early! Finally, good news from @CNN,” slammed Sanders, quoting a tweet about the CNN announcement to boycott the party.

President Trump, not one to stay silent in the face of criticism, quoted Sanders’ tweet and posted the following:
Great, and we should boycott Fake News CNN. Dealing with them is a total waste of time! https://t.co/8zJ3j7g5el

CNN has without question been biased, to say the least, in their reporting on Trump. As noted by The Daily Wire on Tuesday, “a Harvard study found that during Trump’s first 100 days in office, CNN’s coverage of him was 93% negative, 7% positive.”
This is not to say President Trump has not retaliated, at times in unprecedented Gif fashion.
Perhaps the most infamous of Trump’s attacks on CNN was the time he tweeted a Gif of himself body-slamming a person with a superimposed CNN logo for their head.
