Clinton Judge: Enforcing the Law Inconveniences Illegal Aliens

Also arresting drug dealers inconveniences drug cartels. And I’m pretty sure that most criminals don’t like being arrested. Maybe this Clinton appointed Federal judge can help them out.

A federal judge grilled an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday over the Trump administration’s justification for ending a program protecting some young immigrants from deportation, saying many people had come to rely on it and faced a “real” and “palpable” hardship from its loss.

1. That’s generally true of every policy. It just isn’t a valid argument for overruling the President of the United States. Every major piece of legislation inconveniences someone. ObamaCare kicked large numbers people out of their health insurance policies. Somehow I doubt Judge William Alsup would have sympathized with them. It’s one thing to ‘inconvenience’ ranchers, car dealers or members of the military whose health care was cut. But no one had better inconvenience an official Dem victim group.

2. When the people being inconvenienced are here illegally, they ought to be inconvenienced.

U.S. District Judge William Alsup said former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy gave people the chance to work and made them “contributing, taxpaying members of the economy.”

Tax receiving, but let’s not argue over the details. The argument for drug legalization has been that it contributes to the economy. But where can’t that end?

Furthermore, it’s not the job of a Federal judge to judge the merits of a policy, but its legality. A policy can take away candy from babies, but a judge can’t overrule it because he personally dislikes it. Not unless he wants to violate the law by abusing his authority.

DACA was an illegal measure. Attorney General Sessions was right to put it down. But leftist judges want to overrule the AG and the President.

Alsup is considering five lawsuits seeking to block President Donald Trump from rescinding DACA, which has protected about 800,000 people who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children or came with families who overstayed visas.

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced in September that DACA would be phased out, saying Obama had exceeded his authority when he implemented it in 2012.

Alsup isn’t discussing whether Obama exceeded his authority. Instead he’s doing the usual CNN spin of “What about those poor illegal aliens”. That’s not jurisprudence, it’s editorializing.
