After an armed thug ambushed and shot two Los Angeles County deputies in their car on September 12, 2020 in Compton, California, Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden immediately called for a ban on so-called “assault weapons” and high capacity magazines.
Biden tweeted on September 13, 2020, “Weapons of war have no place in our communities. We need to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”

Prior to making these comments, Biden described the shooting as “unconscionable” and demanded that the suspect be brought to justice. He tweeted, “This cold-blooded shooting is unconscionable and the perpetrator must be brought to justice. Violence of any kind is wrong; those who commit it should be caught and punished. Jill and I are keeping the deputies and their loved ones in our hearts and praying for a full recovery.”
