Feds May Pursue Charges Against Kate Steinle’s Murderer

When a San Francisco jury decided that they would let an illegal alien murderer off the hook as a political statement against President Donald Trump the outrage was immediate and justified.

The killer, a five-time deportee named Jose Ines Garcia Zarate should never have been on Pier 14 at the Embarcadero when he discharged the bullet that hit 32-year-old Kate Steinle in the back which cut short her life.

It was a travesty of justice that Zarate was even in the country despite his criminal record and deportations, that travesty was made all the worse thanks to the despicable decision of a liberal jury to disregard their duty and to deny justice to Steinle and her family out of bitterness that Trump won the election.

The political nature of the case was apparent in the statement made by the killer’s greaseball attorney:

Trump quickly denounced the verdict and predicted that there will be hell to pay for Democrats as a result.

The crux of the defense’s case – other than Mr. Sanchez was an immigrant scapegoat – is that he did just found the gun and that it went off by itself which was apparently all that was needed for the abhorrent verdict that just let a murdering scumbag off the hook.

It brings back memories of the O.J. Simpson murder trial, doesn’t it? Blacks on the jury in that one wanted to stick it to the LAPD and the Juice was set loose.

Despite California’s perverse idea of the judicial system, the U.S. Department of Justice is considering whether to bring charges against Zarate, something that will have liberals crying foul if and when it occurs.

Via Fox News “DOJ weighing federal charges in Kate Steinle murder case, after not guilty verdict”:

The Justice Department is considering bringing federal charges against Jose Ines Garcia Zarate after his not guilty verdict in the Kate Steinle murder trial, department officials told Fox News on Friday.

A California jury acquitted Zarate of the more serious charges in the case, including murder, involuntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon — only convicting him of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

U.S. immigration officials had said they would deport Garcia Zarate – also known as Juan Francisco Lopez Sanchez — who already had been deported five times and was wanted for a sixth deportation when Steinle was fatally shot in the back while walking with her father.

The undocumented felon could spend three years in prison for the firearm charge but has already been behind bars for over two years as the case has made its way through court.

Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores acknowledged Friday that the DOJ is looking at federal charges. She suggested a possible charge could be felony re-entry or a charge pertaining to a violation of supervised release.

“We’re looking at every option and we will prosecute this to the fullest extent of the law because these cases are tragic and entirely preventable,” Flores said on “Fox & Friends” Friday.

She also urged local governments to “reconsider” sanctuary policies.

“This is a person who had been deported five times—he knew about San Francisco’s sanctuary policies. This is a person that never should have been on that pier, and Kate Steinle would still be alive,” she said.

Since this case doesn’t involve Russia maybe there is a good chance that Attorney General Jeff Sessions will get off of his ass and do his job.

As for the people of San Francisco – shame on you, just shame on you.
