It turns out that the resistance was overrated, at least in the case of borderline insane former MSNBC star Keith Olbermann who had been reduced to ranting like a psychotic via his GQ internet video.
It was a big fall for a guy who was once the cock of the walk when it came to being a Democratic party propagandist where the kooky egomaniac did his best Edward R. Murrow impression and railed against the Bush administration nightly.
But times change and once Bush was gone, the new Obama era where identity was valued more than bombast or even talent, saw Olbermann ousted from his electronic pedestal in favor of a beady-eyed tittering lesbian with a nervous laugh named Rachel Maddow.
Ironically, the aging white man was the victim of his own party – and American liberalism in general – that has relegated that particular demographic to the ash heap. It later led to Hillary Clinton’s crushing defeat when she and her crackerjack campaign team didn’t want a damned thing to do with the white working class in the Rust Belt – it was the key failure that cost her the election.
So instead of understanding that his own party had no use for people like him – other than as useful idiots – Olbermann projected all of his own failings and the dagger that liberals buried in his back onto President Trump and he lost his marbles in the process.
It was always rather pathetic to see the once dashing Olbermann with his hair gone white as if he saw a ghost and descending deeper into the recesses of his TDS eaten brain with every show and every unstable, profanity-drenched tweet.
Now it is over for K.O. who either voluntarily or at the behest of his employer has given up his role as Captain Ahab before his ship of doomed fools met the fate of the Pequod in Herman Melville’s famous literary work Moby Dick.
The nutcase “retired” via Twitter on Monday claiming victory and that Trump’s presidency was now doomed after he mocked cigar store Indian Elizabeth Warren as Pocahontas – WTF?

While it will probably never be known but did someone at GQ finally get the idea that this guy as a basket case and was deteriorating daily under their banner?
At the rate that Olbermann was going, it was probably only a matter of time until he either blew his own brains out while live-streaming or took out everyone in the studio before sticking the gun into his own big mouth. What would the legal ramifications for that be? How inexorably trashed would the brand name be and what would be the liability if he didn’t go out alone?
Perhaps all of these questions were asked by the suits at GQ and if so, they wisely decided to simply cut their losses and get out cheaply while they still could.
No matter how Olbermann spins it this is a monumental defeat for him and for his “resistance” and he isn’t likely to land another gig unless he can clean up his act first.
What’s next for K.O.? Hopefully, for his own sake, it will be an extended stay at Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital because this dude is in need of some serious help not to mention electroshock therapy and maybe even a frontal lobotomy.
Whatever the spin, Trump BROKE him and only stopped sort of putting a saddle on his back and donkey punching him in the head.
